The Studio
Led by ceramic artist Jayne Papalia, The Sunshine Collective is a coastal ceramics studio and shop front based on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, creating functional ceramic pieces designed to be used, loved, and lived with every day.
Inspired by the coastline — its colours, textures, and slower rhythms — our work reflects a deep connection to place. From soft blues and sandy neutrals to organic, hand-formed shapes, each piece is made to bring a sense of calm and intention into everyday rituals.
At the heart of The Sunshine Collective is a belief that functional objects can also be beautiful. Our ceramics are designed to move seamlessly through daily life — cups held each morning, bowls shared around the table, pieces that become part of a home’s rhythm rather than something reserved for special occasions.
The studio is also home to our shop front, where the work can be experienced in person. Alongside our collections, the space hosts private ceramic sessions and small group events, offering a more intimate way to engage with clay. These experiences are designed to be accessible, relaxed, and welcoming — whether someone is working with ceramics for the first time or returning to deepen their connection to the material.
More than a place of production, the studio is a gathering point — where craft, coast, and community come together through clay.
