Held in the Fold
*This work is available through the studio. Please enquire for pricing and availability.
Held in the Fold is a sculptural ceramic vessel that explores movement, tension and the quiet power of organic form. Hand-built in stoneware, the piece features flowing folded edges that rise and curve from a grounded base, creating a sense of balance between strength and softness.
The dark textured surface contrasts with the fluid interior curves, highlighting the natural movement of clay as it is shaped by hand. Inspired by coastal rock formations and the erosion patterns found along Australia’s shoreline, the sculpture captures a moment of suspended motion — as though the form has been lifted and held in place.
Each piece is individually crafted in the studio, making it a unique work of ceramic art rather than a functional vessel. Designed to be displayed as a standalone sculpture, it invites the viewer to explore its shifting silhouettes from different angles.
This contemporary ceramic sculpture is ideal for collectors of modern ceramics, sculptural vessels, and Australian handmade art.
